Walking around with an engagement ring in your pocket for 14 days across 6 flights, several hostels, and Airbnbs and not losing it is nothing short of a miracle for me. When Thera and I went to Chile, we had been dating for almost 7 years and I knew when I proposed, I wanted it to be somewhere very special. I knew Patagonia was often rated by many as the most beautiful place in the world and from the pictures, I could understand why. I decided that this would be the place I would propose to Thera. The only problem was that we planned to visit the National Park on the 14th day of our trip and little did I know that to get to the spot that I planned to propose, I would have to hike the hardest trail I’d ever done before.
I met Tony in Nov 2009 at a friend’s ugly Christmas sweater party - another ridiculous party theme that college students used as an excuse to drink. We were young, naive and fell for each other fast...Those 2 carefree years together in college were so much fun - we got to know each other, made great friends, and drank wayyyyy too much beer & ate $5 Papa John’s pizzas almost every night out. We’d built a strong relationship that lasted through 1 year apart while Tony started his career in Chicago & I finished my senior year but I knew that the ultimate test would be our first international backpacking trip together.
We’ve learned so much about ourselves and each other on all of our trips - big & small - that we never would have just staying at home in our usual routine. Which is exactly why we’ve put together the 5 reasons why every couple should travel. If you & your significant other have traveled together or are considering traveling and you’re nervous about it, this blog is for you!
Everyone knows the mainstream party scenes around the world; Ibiza, Las Vegas, Full Moon Party in Koh Phangan… but what if I told you I’ve had as much, if not more fun in the Bairro Alto neighborhood in Lisbon, Portugal and Koh Phi Phi island in Thailand.
You read that right, my party experiences in Bairro Alto and Koh Phi Phi were better than Business Insider’s, Reader’s Digest, Time Magazine’s top party scenes around the world.
Are you a world traveler? Professional business traveler? Or do you just like to take weekend trips? Then finding the right bag that meets your needs is critical.
For as much as we traveled, we never actually owned our own travel backpacks. We both had carry on suitcases & duffel bags for work trips and weekend getaways but we always borrowed backpacks from family friends. But wheeling heavy suitcases & carrying heavy duffel bags is not only tiring but can also get old when you’re walking across cobblestones or uneven pavement. When the borrowed backpacks started to fray, we knew it was time to find our own. But how do you know which one to choose?
